#5 — Unlock your jumping skills

Fulfill every rider’s dream — learn to jump!
In this “How to Ride” episode, Jan Kiliński (Dirt It More) explains step by step how to leave the ground in a controlled way. Jumping is probably the least intuitive MTB skill. A common mistake among self-taught riders is leaning forward, as if jumping with your legs. Bike technique requires the opposite: a movement backwards, as if you were “throwing yourself onto a couch.”

You’ll learn why mastering the bunnyhop (not the “hammer”) is the key to proper jumping and why you should lift your front wheel first, then the rear.
