Description

Freeride has many faces - and the all-new Thunderbird FR family is built to master them all. We scrapped the old geometry and started from the ground up, creating a frame that’s stronger, more agile, and ready for the biggest jumps.

The Thunderbird Super FR GX is one of our all-new builds based on the next-generation Thunderbird FR frame. It’s made for riders who live for the steepest lines, biggest drops, and rowdiest freeride terrain. Designed to push the limits where others back down, it combines the striking Dragon Green frame with a dual crown fork and mullet wheel setup for maximum confidence when things get serious.

Up front, the RockShox Boxxer fork with 200mm of travel sets the tone. Out back, the RockShox Vivid Coil Select+ shock delivers bottomless support and that classic coil feel freeriders love.

The SRAM GX DH 7-speed drivetrain with an 11–25T cassette keeps the gearing tight and snappy, perfect for bikepark laps and downhill-style freeride lines. Power transfer stays stiff and consistent thanks to the brand new version of the FSA Comet Heavy Duty crankset.

Shield Wide rims paired with Reel Expert hubs make for a bombproof wheelset, wrapped in Maxxis Minion DHF 3C MaxxTerra EXO+ TR tires for ultimate grip and control on any surface.

The cockpit features the new Thunder Direct stem and Lightning Hi, delivering precision steering and rock-solid stability. Stopping power comes from SRAM Maven brakes, giving you total confidence to drop into the steepest chutes and commit to the gnarliest lines.

Now, go huck it!

FR stands for freeride

With either a 200mm dual crown or a 180mm single crown fork, it's designed for bikepark laps with friends who choose double black diamonds for a warm-up run. Thunderbird FR pedals just right to keep the sweat off during beer runs while its suspension stays responsive enough to prevent cold ones from ruffling.

Progressive suspension
Progressive suspension

Thanks to its high leverage ratio at the beginning of travel, Thunderbirds easily overcomes friction, ensuring that the initial part of the travel is sufficiently soft. At the end of the stroke, higher progression offers resistance against bottoming out, guaranteeing the bike can handle whatever challenges you encounter.

All-aluminum Thunderbird frames are designed to be compatible with the new generation of 1.8" tapered forks featuring 68–69mm crowns. Bigger means stronger — a crucial advantage in Superenduro and Freeride riding. Of course, these frames also work perfectly with standard tapered forks with 1.5" steerer tubes. And when you purchase our Storm or Storm Intro headsets, both crown races are included.

One piece rocker
One piece rocker

The massive rocker is made of one piece of forged aluminum, keeping lateral stiffness high and providing an on-trail feel even in rough terrain.

Our custom bicycle frame protectors are crafted from thick thermoplastic elastomer material, offering superior impact resistance against scratches, dents, and impacts. Designed with a ribbed pattern for added durability, these protectors provide a perfect fit for Thunderbird frames, ensuring maximum protection without compromising aesthetics.

All bearings in our full suspension frames feature extra dedicated custom sealing for enhanced protection against dust, dirt, and moisture. Red Mobil grease provides effective lubrication over extended periods, ensuring minimal friction and optimal performance. MAX-type bearings offer over 30% more load capacity than caged bearings.

Mullet

180mm of rear and up to 200mm of front travel with geometry allowing you to fit a 29-inch front wheel, which means you can easily match it with a dual crown fork and keep the eyes away from your lovely mullet.
